The Guardians died out around a million years ago and left ruins and structures on planets in a region of the Vela and Puppis constellations. Ruins hold obelisks whose records the codex keeps as the Guardian Codex, and relic towers that hold relics; structures have data terminals, power pylons and sentinels that still defend them.
Data from the terminals and obelisks, with the relics and Guardian materials, buys modules and weapons at the Guardian technology brokers.
